So what am I up to now?
Well, right now I’m standing in the kitchen with a hot cup of tea, watching my 14 month old pull everything out of the Tupperware drawer and the messy bottom shelf of the pantry. Yes, I said it, messy. And standing back and watching.
I know of parents who would be horrified at both of those admissions, but yeah, that’s just me. She’s my little explorer and after the ups and downs she been through, which I’ll share one day, I’m happy to let her go.
Oh, she’s just stuffed a handful of straight cocoa powder that she tipped on the floor into her mouth. The look on her face is priceless. Ah these moments of bliss. Lately, I feel like I’m not doing enough observing. Beanie will be 5 next month and I can barely remember his infancy and toddlerhood. I feel like he’s been independent and communicative forever.
That’s life, though, isn’t it? Fleeting. Beanie and Talbot have a brother or sister making its way into the world later this year, and I’m determined to enjoy both the time before Melman (thankyou Beanie) arrives and the early days as best I can. You know, aside from the probable reflux-induced, sleep-deprived hysteria.
I hope to be on here more often. It’ll mostly start off as general musings about what’s going on here, but I’m ok with that. Maybe we will morph into something more grown up and interesting in time.
