Hi! I mentioned here that I am soo excited to be involved in the launch of Asheritah Ciuciu’s new book, Walking with God: Enjoying God’s Presence from Morning to Night, and I just wanted to give you a quick intro to it.
It’s a four week devotional study, and is perfect for busy mums on the run… Well, anyone really, but as a busy mum myself I have to say I am really enjoying it, and highly recommend it! The study is in four parts, over the four weeks, entitled the rudiments, the records, the roadblocks and the rhythms of walking with God. It has been written to help us to think about what it means to walk with God, and figure out new ways of enjoying His presence throughout the day, aside from your regular quiet time and Sunday church session.
Each day there is a short Bible verse, one or two verses to read (printed right there at the top, so it’s easy to keep referring back to it); a page or two of commentary and how the verse helps us learn about what it means to walk with God in our modern day lives; and then a series of questions to consider (and sometimes another Scripture reference to read) and a prayer point. Honestly, the hard work has been done, and all you have to do is spend 10-15 minutes enjoying God’s presence and learning more about how to walk with Him every minute of the day.
Asheritah has also announced that she will be hosting a Bible study group, commencing on April 1, so if you do decide to purchase the book, you can be involved in that with a big group of other women doing it all together. I think that is pretty exciting, knowing that there will be a whole host of people studying the same thing at the same time, praying together and encouraging one another through the study. I’ll be honest and tell you I’m ‘cheating’ at the moment and doing more than one a day so I can get through it to tell you all about it, but I plan to come back it during the study period as well. Personally, I’m finding so much encouragement from this book, which is why I’m so excited to tell you about it.
I’ll be posting more about this book in the weeks to come, but for now let me encourage you to pop over to Asheritah’s blog, One Thing Alone, and have a bit of a wander through it. If you like her writing style in her blog posts, you’ll love this book, because it’s a really easy and relaxed read. I know I appreciate that with my crazy mum-of-three brain at the moment (or is it just me who is having constant brain fades?) If you’re anything like me, you don’t have a lot of downtime, so the short devotions in Walking with God will give you some spiritual pep in a series of short sessions. You can find out more about the book here.
